“Compute Is Power, Demand Accelerating,” Says NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang as Q2 Results Beat Estimates

US chipmaker NVIDIA reported better-than-expected fiscal second-quarter results on Wednesday and issued revenue guidance above market estimates, sending its shares up about 4 per cent in extended trading.

For the quarter ended July 26, 2026, NVIDIA reported revenue of USD 96.2 billion, an increase of 18 per cent from the previous quarter and 106 per cent from a year earlier. GAAP and non-GAAP gross margins stood at 75 per cent, while GAAP and non-GAAP diluted earnings per share were USD 2.46 and USD 2.22, respectively, according to a company release.

“AI has reached its inflection point. It’s doing useful work. Its tokens are productive and profitable. Now, compute is revenue. And demand is accelerating,” NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said.

“This time last year, one lab alone was driving the buildout; today, we have a golden age of new AI labs and startups, multiple frontier labs scaling in parallel, a thriving open-model ecosystem and physical AI coming online — with strong momentum across the U.S. and around the world,” Huang added.

He said the AI infrastructure buildout was “at full steam”, adding that NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform was built to support the growing demand.

For the second quarter of fiscal 2027, NVIDIA returned approximately USD 26 billion to shareholders through share repurchases and cash dividends. The company had approximately USD 99 billion remaining under its share repurchase authorisation at the end of the quarter.

NVIDIA said it expects revenue of USD 108 billion, plus or minus 2 per cent, in the next quarter.

Data Center revenue stood at USD 89 billion, up 18 per cent from the previous quarter and 117 per cent from a year earlier.

The company said its NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform was ramping into full production, with racks operating at partners including CoreWeave, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and Nebius.

NVIDIA also announced strategic partnerships with Apollo, BlackRock, Blackstone, Brookfield, Goldman Sachs and KKR to establish independent compute financing platforms aimed at mobilising more than USD 500 billion in third-party capital for AI infrastructure development over time, subject to definitive agreements.

The company said SpaceXAI will deploy NVIDIA Vera CPUs to accelerate its next-generation agentic AI applications. It also announced the formation of the Open Secure AI Alliance with industry leaders to advance AI safety and security.

NVIDIA further highlighted the release of a major collection of open-source agent tools and skills for physical AI, aimed at enabling developers to convert complex robotics, autonomous vehicle and vision AI workflows into agent-executable tasks.

NVIDIA’s next quarterly cash dividend of USD 0.25 per share is scheduled to be paid on October 1, 2026, to shareholders of record as of September 10.
