Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid tributes to Pingali Venkayya on his 150th birth anniversary, remembering his pivotal contribution to designing India’s National Flag and his service to the nation.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Tributes to Pingali Venkayya Ji on his 150th birth anniversary. He is remembered for his invaluable role in giving our nation the Tricolour. May his efforts always inspire people to serve our country with dedication and patriotic fervour. The Tiranga fills every Indian heart with immense pride and inspires us to work towards nation building.”
HM Shah also paid homage to Pingali Venkayya, describing his contribution to the design of the Tricolour as immortal.
In a post on X, he said, “Tributes to Pingali Venkayya Ji on his Jayanti. He made an immortal contribution to designing the Tiranga, our National Flag, which flutters high as the symbol of our pride and aspirations. His role in the independence movement and development of different streams of knowledge will always inspire Indians.”
Singh remembered Pingali Venkayya as the visionary behind the Tricolour and praised his contributions to India’s freedom struggle, education and agricultural research.
“I pay my respectful tributes to Pingali Venkayya Ji, the visionary who designed our Tiranga, on his Jayanti. A distinguished scholar and polyglot, he dedicated his life to the service of the nation. His remarkable contributions to India’s freedom struggle, education, and agricultural research reflected his unwavering commitment to nation-building and national progress. His enduring legacy continues to inspire generations of Indians,” he said in a post on X.
