Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday approved a combined allocation of Rs 605.71 crore for Rajasthan and Telangana under the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM-RKVY) and the Krishonnati Yojana (KY).
Of the total amount, Rajasthan will receive Rs 340.59 crore, while Telangana has been allocated Rs 265.12 crore to support agricultural development and farmer welfare initiatives.
Chouhan approved the allocations during a virtual meeting with Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirori Lal Meena and Telangana Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao. Senior officials from the Union and state agriculture departments also participated.
The approvals followed a review of the annual action plans approved by the Project Approval Committees of the two states, utilisation of the first instalment and expenditure progress.
Rajasthan gets Rs 340.59 crore
For Rajasthan, the Project Approval Committee had approved an annual action plan of Rs 849.37 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 509.62 crore.
The Centre had subsequently issued a first Mother Sanction of Rs 216.13 crore on May 4. The state has so far utilised Rs 164.39 crore, or 76.06 per cent of the sanctioned amount.
Following the latest approval, Rajasthan will receive Rs 216.12 crore under RKVY and Rs 124.47 crore under the Krishonnati Yojana, taking the total allocation to Rs 340.59 crore.
Chouhan called for greater attention to the status of Kisan Credit Cards (KCCs) in Rajasthan to ensure that farmers have timely and hassle-free access to institutional credit.
Telangana allocated Rs 265.12 crore
For Telangana, the Project Approval Committee approved an annual action plan of Rs 651.06 crore for 2026-27, including a Central share of Rs 390.63 crore.
The first Mother Sanction of Rs 157.65 crore was issued on May 12. The state has so far spent Rs 96.05 crore, accounting for 60.93 per cent of the sanctioned amount.
The latest approval provides Rs 157.66 crore under RKVY and Rs 107.46 crore under the Krishonnati Yojana to Telangana.
Chouhan appreciated Telangana’s new model for Farmer ID and fertiliser distribution, and congratulated the state Agriculture Minister for the initiative. He said the model could help make the delivery of agricultural services more transparent and effective.
The Union Minister, however, noted that expenditure under the Oilseeds and Pulses Missions in Telangana was relatively behind schedule and called for regular monitoring of implementation and expenditure.
Chouhan said the financial support was aimed at ensuring timely implementation of agricultural programmes and accelerating activities related to agricultural infrastructure, productivity enhancement, input support and farmer welfare.
He said the Centre would continue to work closely with state governments under the leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen resources, technical assistance and monitoring for the benefit of farmers.
The Minister expressed confidence that the latest allocations would accelerate the implementation of agriculture schemes in Rajasthan and Telangana and ensure that their benefits reach farmers more effectively.
