Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Tuesday released a special tribute song in memory of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, composed by music maestro AR Rahman, on her birth anniversary.
The song was unveiled at an event in Mumbai in the presence of Rahman, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar and singer Zanai Bhosle.
The musical tribute brought together prominent personalities from Maharashtra’s political and cultural spheres to honour the enduring legacy of Bhosle, one of India’s most celebrated playback singers.
Maharashtra CM shared details about the tribute song on X, saying, “Asha Tai’s Divine Voice Will Live ‘Forever’! On the birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan and Maharashtra Bhushan awardee, late Asha Bhosle, composer A. R. Rahman has created the beautiful tribute, Asha Forever”
“Ashaji’s voice was filled with extraordinary energy and emotion. Even at the age of 90, her performances reflected the same passion and vibrancy that touched millions. Asha Forever is a heartfelt tribute to her remarkable legacy and inspiring journey. Through her timeless songs, Ashaji will continue to bring joy and inspiration to generations to come,” said Fadnavis.
The tribute song seeks to celebrate her contribution and keep her musical legacy alive for future generations.
Asha Bhosle was born on September 8, 1933, and her career spanned several decades. She is widely regarded as one of the most versatile singers in Indian music. Her distinctive voice and ability to perform across genres earned her a lasting place in the country’s musical history.
One of India’s most celebrated playback singers, Bhosle passed away at the age of 92, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire generations of music lovers.
