India, Qatar Review Bilateral Ties, Exchange Views on Regional and Multilateral Issues, Developments in West Asia

India and Qatar on Friday reviewed the entire gamut of their bilateral relations, including political engagement, trade, investment, energy, consular affairs, education, culture and people-to-people ties, during the 6th round of Foreign Office Consultations in New Delhi.

The consultations were co-chaired by Sripriya Ranganathan, Secretary (CPV&OIA), Ministry of External Affairs, and Dr. Ahmad Hassen Al-Hammadi, Secretary General, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar.

During the consultations, both sides also exchanged views on regional and multilateral issues of mutual interest, including developments in West Asia, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of External Affairs.

India and Qatar share historically close and friendly relations. In recent years, their multifaceted strategic partnership has continued to deepen across all spheres. The large Indian community in Qatar serves as a vibrant bridge between the two countries.

Both sides agreed to hold the next round of Foreign Office Consultations in Doha at a mutually convenient date.
