Dubai Future District Fund and Buimerc agree on strategic cooperation to boost India-UAE innovation ties

Dubai Future District Fund (DFDF) and Buimerc Corporation Limited have agreed on a strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening Dubai’s venture capital ecosystem and promoting innovation ties between India and the UAE. The agreement was exchanged at the Consulate General of India in Dubai, in the presence of India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Dr Deepak Mittal, and Consul General Dr E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy.

DFDF is Dubai’s venture capital fund-of-funds and investment platform, which supports investment in technology sectors aligned with the emirate’s economic priorities. Buimerc is a Dubai-based investment and holding company with Indian roots and experience in both the Indian and UAE markets.

The collaboration will explore opportunities to support technology start-ups and high-growth companies, share market knowledge and help founders and venture capital fund managers establish a presence in Dubai. The two organisations also plan to explore joint initiatives, including programmes for entrepreneurs, business delegations and events.

The collaboration is significant in the context of growing India-UAE economic ties, particularly in the areas of technology, innovation and investment. It seeks to connect Indian entrepreneurs, investors and fund managers with Dubai’s venture capital ecosystem. While Indian start-ups could gain greater access to funding networks and international markets through Dubai, the agreement can help the emirate attract capital, talent and expertise from India and strengthen its position as a global hub for innovation.

The initiative also supports Dubai’s Economic Agenda D33, which aims to double the size of the emirate’s economy by 2033 and establish it among the world’s leading global cities.

India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Dr Deepak Mittal, said the collaboration would strengthen bilateral relations by encouraging greater cooperation in venture capital and creating new opportunities for investment and innovation between the two countries.

Consul General Dr E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy said the partnership would help Indian start-ups access the UAE’s venture capital ecosystem and promote cross-border cooperation between entrepreneurs and investors.

Chairman of DFDF and Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Future Foundation, Khalfan Belhoul, said the partnership would contribute to building a strong venture capital ecosystem in Dubai for generations.

DIFC Authority Chief Executive Officer Arif Amiri said the initiative would create new opportunities for Indian founders and investors to expand internationally from Dubai.

DFDF Managing Director Nader Albastaki highlighted the importance of long-term partnerships and said the collaboration would help world’s most ambitious companies make Dubai their home.

Buimerc Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Siddharth Balachandran said the collaboration would support Dubai’s innovation ambitions while further strengthening the economic and strategic ties between India and the UAE.
