The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is set to organize the Prize Distribution Function for the 33rd National Youth Parliament Competition, 2022-23 for Kendriya Vidyalayas at Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. The event will take place tomorrow, on September 1st, 2023.
The function will be presided over by Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Law and Justice, Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, and Minister of State in the Ministry of Culture. Meghwal will also be distributing the prizes.
During the event, the students of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, who won the first place at the National Level in the National Youth Parliament Competition, 2022-23 for Kendriya Vidyalayas, will present a repeat performance of their “Youth Parliament” sitting.
For many years, the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs has been organizing Youth Parliament Competitions for Kendriya Vidyalayas. The 33rd Competition in the series was organized during 2022-23 among 150 Kendriya Vidyalayas spread over 25 regions of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan.
The Youth Parliament Scheme aims to instill the spirit of self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, righteous expression of views, and other virtues of a democratic way of life among the younger generation. It also acquaints the students with the practices and procedures of Parliament, techniques of discussion and debate, and develops their self-confidence, quality of leadership, and the art and skill of effective oratory.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh (Jabalpur region, South Zone) will be awarded the “Nehru Running Shield” and Trophy for standing first at the National Level in the 33rd Competition. Additionally, Zonal winner trophies will also be awarded to 4 Vidyalayas for standing first at the Zonal level in the competition. Furthermore, Regional winner trophies will be awarded to 20 Vidyalayas for standing first at the regional level in the competition.
