In a significant meeting held in New Delhi on September 8, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden reaffirmed their commitment to fortifying the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership.

The two leaders commended the progress in implementing the futuristic and wide-ranging outcomes of PM Modi’s historic state visit to the U.S. in June 2023, including under the India-U.S. Initiative for Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).

Both leaders appreciated the sustained momentum in bilateral cooperation, spanning diverse areas such as defence, trade, investment, education, healthcare, research, innovation, culture, and people-to-people ties.

President Biden also extended warm congratulations to PM Modi and the people of India on the historic landing of Chandrayaan-3 near the lunar south pole. This achievement underscores the deepening collaboration between India and the United States in the field of space exploration.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for the two leaders to hold discussions on a number of regional and global issues. They agreed that the India-US partnership was beneficial not only for the people of the two countries but also for the global good.

PM Modi thanked President Biden for the consistent support received from the United States in ensuring the success of India’s G20 Presidency.

India’s G20 Presidency is a pivotal moment for the country on the global stage. This collaboration further underscores the shared commitment of the two nations to addressing pressing global challenges and fostering economic growth and stability on a global scale.
