PM Modi to inaugurate Ram Temple gates at grand consecration event in Ayodhya on January 22

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the gathering at the grand consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya from the temple’s main entrance, the ‘Singh Dwar’, according to sources.

During the consecration event on January 22, PM Modi will inaugurate the temple by opening its gates. A large number of devotees are expected to gather in the temple town for the event.

The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, responsible for the construction and management of the temple, is set to convene for a meeting today. The agenda will include discussions on the installation of the idol of Lord Ram inside the temple’s sanctum during the opening ceremony on January 22, with detailed arrangements for the consecration event being a primary focus.

Additionally, the trust plans to hold another meeting to finalize the selection of the idol of Ram Lalla.

Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya participated in a cleanliness campaign in Ayodhya ahead of the grand event. He highlighted the campaign’s motto: “With the resolve, Swachh Rahe Shri Ram Ka Dham” (Lord Ram’s place should be clean).

Champat Rai, the trust secretary, previously indicated that among three designs, a 51-inch tall idol of Lord Ram resembling a five-year-old Ram Lalla would be chosen. He emphasized the selection criteria, aiming for a divine and childlike appearance.

Rai elaborated on the construction of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, revealing that a massive 21-22 lakh cubic feet of stone has been used. Notably, an extensive foundation of a 56-layered artificial rock has been laid, and around five lakh cubic feet of pink sandstone from Bharatpur, Rajasthan, has been utilized.

Meanwhile, Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Thursday urged all the invitees to attend the installation of Ram Lalla on January 22.

Speaking to reporters, Thakur said, “Our dream of a grand Ram Temple is finally coming true. I would humbly request everyone, who has been invited, to attend the opening of the shrine on January 22.”

“Those planning a visit to the temple at a later date should do comprehensive research on all amenities that have been made available for them to ensure that they don’t run into any inconvenience,” he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Ayodhya on December 30 to inaugurate the revamped Ayodhya airport and railway station, both modeled after the temple.
