Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday felicitated the ‘Super-100’ winners of Project Veer Gatha 3.0 in New Delhi, awarding them Rs 10,000, medals, and certificates.
Project Veer Gatha, a joint effort by the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Education, aims to introduce tales of valour to the youth, aligning with the values of ‘Nation First.’
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan lauded ‘Veer Gatha’ as a unique program inspiring the younger generation about the sacrifices made by heroes.
Based on the defence minister’s suggestions, Veer Gatha 3.0 expanded its recognition, acknowledging 100 winners at the national level, a considerable increase from the 25 winners in the initial two editions.
Additionally, an improved feature was introduced to acknowledge winners at various levels, including national, state, and district.
Held between July 13 and September 30, 2023, the third edition received 1.36 crore entries from students nationwide, showcasing their inspirational stories through essays, poems, drawings, and multimedia presentations. A total of 3,900 entries underwent national-level evaluation, with 25 winners selected in each category.
Remarkably, 65 of the ‘Super-100’ are girl students, with Odisha leading with eight, followed closely by Bihar with seven. Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Manipur in the north-eastern region, had two and five girl student winners, respectively.
The winning entries reflect linguistic diversity, featuring Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Assamese, Tamil, and Marathi, in addition to Hindi and English, highlighting India’s rich cultural tapestry.
