Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Supreme Court of India on Sunday noon in the Supreme Court auditorium.
Marking the 75th year of the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister will launch citizen-centric information and technology initiatives that include Digital Supreme Court Reports (Digi SCR), Digital Courts 2.0 and new website of the Supreme Court.
Digital Supreme Court Reports (Digi SCR)
One of the key initiatives, the Digi SCR, will revolutionize the accessibility of Supreme Court judgments. All 519 volumes of Supreme Court reports dating back to 1950, covering an extensive 36,308 cases, will be available in a user-friendly digital format. The digital SCR will be freely accessible to citizens in electronic form, ensuring widespread availability of crucial legal information.
Digital Courts 2.0
Under the e-Courts project, the Digital Courts 2.0 application is a recent technological stride toward providing electronic access to court records for Judges of the district courts. This innovative system incorporates artificial intelligence (AI) for real-time speech-to-text transcription, contributing to efficient and modernized court proceedings.
New Bilingual Website
The Prime Minister will also unveil the redesigned bilingual website of the Supreme Court, available in English and Hindi. The user-friendly interface of the new website aims to enhance accessibility for citizens seeking legal information and updates.
During the inauguration, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to address the gathering and highlight the significance of these initiatives in fostering a more technologically advanced and accessible judicial system.
