Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024: A Gateway to India’s Global Growth

The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit witnessed a confluence of visionary leaders, industry giants, and global corporations, affirming Gujarat’s pivotal role in India’s economic landscape. Among the distinguished voices at the summit, Reliance Industries Chairman and MD Mukesh Ambani highlighted the state’s transformative journey under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Ambani, expressing pride in his Gujarati roots, emphasized the significant role Gujarat plays in shaping the narrative of a new India. He credited PM Modi as the architect of Gujarat’s success, hailing him as the most successful Prime Minister in India’s history.

Speaking about Reliance’s commitment to Gujarat, Ambani stated, “Reliance was, is, and will always remain a Gujarati company.” He revealed that the conglomerate had invested over $150 billion (Rs 12 Lakh Crores) in creating world-class assets across India in the last decade, with more than a third of this investment concentrated in Gujarat.

President of Suzuki Motors, Toshihiro Suzuki, shared ambitious plans during the summit. He announced the rollout of the first Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) from Suzuki Motor Gujarat by the end of the year. The company aims to not only cater to the Indian market but also export the model to Japan and European countries. Suzuki Group plans to invest Rs 3200 Crore in Suzuki Motor Gujarat, adding a new production line to increase annual capacity from 7.5 Lakh to 1 million units.

Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of Micron Technology, applauded PM Modi’s vision to position India as a global hub for semiconductors. He emphasized the significant economic impact this vision would have as India strives to become the world’s third-largest economy. Mehrotra announced Micron’s plans to build a state-of-the-art memory assembly and test facility in Gujarat, reinforcing the company’s commitment to India’s semiconductor sector.
