Vishwa Hindi Diwas celebrated in Dhaka

Vishwa Hindi Diwas celebrated in Dhaka on Wednesday. High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Pranay Verma joined the Vishwa Hindi Diwas celebrations at Dhaka University.

Speaking on the occasion, Verma said language finds its way to reach the people who appreciate each other’s culture and that is the essence of language. He said Hindi language is just a medium but we are actually celebrating the importance of language as a connector between our two societies.

High Commissioner Verma read out the special message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this occasion. He said, the biggest strength of Hindi language is its originality and simplicity and due to that the use of Hindi language has increased in many countries.

As a part of World Hindi Day celebration, the prizes were distributed to the winners of the various activities related to Hindi language held at Institute of Modern Languages, Dhaka University.

Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University, Dr. Maksud Kamal also participated in the event.

A cultural programme showcasing the richness of Hindi language and culture was also organised on the occasion by the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre (IGCC) of the High Commission of India in Dhaka.
