In Germany, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar held discussions with counterparts from the United States and the United Kingdom on bilateral cooperation and key global and regional issues. The meeting took place on Friday on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
Jaishankar, in a post, stated that the meeting with Blinken focused on major bilateral issues as well as the situation in West Asia, Ukraine, and the Indo-Pacific. Progress in bilateral relations was reviewed during this session. Both sides deliberated on various aspects of India-US strategic relations. Prior to this, Jaishankar also met with his British counterpart Cameron.
He also met with ministers from Peru and Bulgaria. He mentioned that there were fruitful discussions with Cameron on bilateral cooperation as well as global and regional issues. The Foreign Minister mentioned the ongoing India vs England Test match in Gujarat, indicating that discussions were also held on this topic. Another important meeting was held with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell Fontelles.
Foreign Minister Jaishankar discussed United Nations reform and economic cooperation with Peru’s Foreign Minister Javier Gonzales-Olaechea and held talks on advancing bilateral relations with Bulgaria’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Maria Gabriel.
With Gabriel, he exchanged views on the conflict in Ukraine and welcomed Bulgaria’s decision to join the International Solar Alliance initiated by India as part of its vision for One World One Grid to enhance the use of solar energy in the global efforts to address climate change.
