Prime Minister Narendra Modi will deliver his response to the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address in the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. Following his address, the Upper House will engage in discussions concerning the Union Interim Budget 2024-25 and the Interim Budget for Jammu and Kashmir 2024-25.

The Budget Session commenced with President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the joint sitting of Parliament on January 31, signaling the beginning of a period of legislative deliberations.

In his address to the Lok Sabha on Monday, PM Modi laid out his vision, expressing confidence in the future success of his government. He projected a promising outlook, saying that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is poised to secure a resounding victory, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) anticipated to secure a substantial majority of 370 seats, and the NDA as a whole aiming for 400 seats.

Reflecting on the achievements of his government, PM Modi underscored significant milestones such as the construction of the Ram Temple and the historic revocation of Article 370. He also reiterated the government’s unwavering commitment to advancing women’s empowerment and fostering infrastructure development across the nation.

Wednesday’s proceedings in the Rajya Sabha will feature the presentation of reports by several Members of Parliament, including updates on the government’s actions in response to recommendations from parliamentary committees addressing crucial sectors such as agriculture, consumer affairs, and coal imports.

The ongoing Budget Session, scheduled to span eight sittings over 10 days, holds considerable significance for legislative agenda-setting and policy discourse. It is likely to conclude on February 10.
