‘I am in NDA’, asserts TDP chief Naidu amid speculations of joining hands with INDIA bloc

As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rallies for support to form a government after falling short of a majority, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Chandrababu Naidu extended his support to the BJP, affirming his alliance with the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

During a press conference in Vijayawada, Naidu said, “I have seen so many political changes in the country. I am in NDA. I am going to the NDA meeting. If there is anything else, we will report to you.”

Expressing his gratitude to the people of Andhra Pradesh for their support of the TDP and the NDA alliance, Naidu hailed the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as ‘historic.’ He highlighted that Indians living in the USA spent 5 lakh rupees to come and vote, and that even labourers working in other states returned to cast their ballots.

Naidu urged the public to provide continuous feedback during the TDP’s governance, underlining that such engagement would help improve their administration. He said that everything will be reviewed after the NDA meeting.

Naidu also thanked Janasena Party Chief Pawan Kalyan for his support, which helped prevent anti-incumbency sentiments from splitting the vote.

Criticising the five-year rule of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in Andhra Pradesh, Naidu described the period as highly damaging, equivalent to thirty years of setbacks. He pointed out the economic ruin, unknown debt levels, severe water shortages in agriculture, and the inability of farmers to protest against sand removal from their lands. He also mentioned that TDP workers faced house arrests and harassment during assembly sessions.

“During assembly sessions, I encountered difficult situations, and many YSRCP leaders harassed me and my family. On that day, I vowed to return to the assembly with a super-majority. The public supported me and sent me back to the assembly. I have been responsible both in opposition and in power. We will meet your expectations”, Naidu said.
