Taylor Swift’s official website on Wednesday (August 7) showed that the U.S. singer’s Austrian concerts planned for this week had been cancelled due to a terror threat.
A statement on the Austrian ticket website linked to by Swift’s said that a planned terror attack on the stadium she had been due to perform at had been discovered.
“Due to confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at the Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three planned shows for everyone’s safety,” it said. Tickets would be automatically refunded within 10 days it added.
Austrian police on Wednesday detained two people suspected of plotting attacks on concerts, Franz Ruf, director general for public security, said at a news conference on Wednesday evening.
