“Unity in diversity”: BSF takes out ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ bike rally in West Bengal’s Krishnanagar

The Border Security Force (BSF) organized a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ bike rally in Krishnanagar, West Bengal on Wednesday. The event, held just days before India’s 78th Independence Day, aims to promote national unity and encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes.

BSF Deputy Inspector General Sanjay Kumar, speaking to reporters, emphasized the importance of the initiative. “We want every citizen to feel proud of their country and display the national flag on their house,” Kumar said. “By distributing flags and organizing this rally, we’re sending a message of unity in diversity to our neighboring countries.”

Kumar also highlighted the event’s broader significance, saying, “This demonstrates how people from different castes and religions can coexist peacefully in our nation.”

The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, has gained momentum across India. In Srinagar, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organized a walkathon, while in Hyderabad, a rally was held from Parade Ground to Charminar.

In the 112th ‘Mann Ki Baat’ on July 28, Prime Minister Modi called upon all Indians to take part in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign to celebrate Independence Day.

The third edition of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” (HGT) campaign is being celebrated from August 9th to 15th, as part of the Independence Day celebrations.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a campaign that forms part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. It was started in 2021 to encourage people to bring the Tiranga home and to hoist it to mark the 75th year of India’s independence. The idea behind the initiative is to invoke the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of the people and promote awareness about the Indian National Flag.
