India fight through rain to win 2nd Test against Bangladesh, sweep series

Team India fought rains demons and defeated Bangladesh by seven wickets in the 2nd Test in Kanpur on Tuesday, completing a 2-0 series sweep. The match was marked by a strong bowling attack and a crucial half-century from Yashasvi Jaiswal.

On Day 4, Bangladesh resumed their innings at 26/2 but struggled against India’s relentless bowling, ultimately being bowled out for 146. This left India with a target of just 95 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Jasprit Bumrah were the standout bowlers for India, each taking three wickets and effectively dismantling the Bangladeshi batting lineup.

During India’s chase, the team began aggressively but lost two early wickets, putting pressure on the batsmen. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal played a pivotal role, scoring 51 runs before his dismissal. In the end, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant ensured a smooth finish, guiding India to victory with seven wickets in hand.

For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets, while Taijul Islam contributed one. With this victory, India not only won the match but also asserted their dominance in the series, firmly sweeping the two-match contest 2-0.
