Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the ‘Karmayogi Saptah’, or National Learning Week, on Saturday (October 19 ) at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The initiative aims to bolster individual and organizational capacity development for civil servants across the nation.
Launched in September 2020, Mission Karmayogi envisions a future-ready civil service grounded in Indian values while adopting a global perspective. The National Learning Week (NLW) is anticipated to be the largest event of its kind, providing a significant boost to the commitment to learning and development among civil servants.
NLW is designed to promote a unified “One Government” message, aligning all participants with national goals and encouraging lifelong learning. Throughout the week, each participant—referred to as a Karmayogi—will be expected to engage in at least four hours of competency-linked learning. This can be achieved through a combination of individual role-based modules available on the iGOT platform, webinars featuring public lectures and policy masterclasses led by distinguished speakers.
In addition to personal learning, various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations will host seminars and workshops aimed at enhancing specific competencies. Eminent speakers will also address participants, sharing insights and strategies for improving citizen-centric service delivery.
