SAIL provides 45,000 tonnes of steel for key infrastructure at Mahakumbh Mela 2025

According to the Ministry of Steel, the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a Maharatna and the largest steel-making public sector company in the country, has provided approximately 45,000 tonnes of steel for the upcoming Mahakumbh Mela 2025, to be held in Prayagraj.

The steel supply consists of chequered plates, hot strip mill plates, mild steel plates, angles, and joists. SAIL had previously contributed steel during the Mahakumbh Mela in 2013, further demonstrating the company’s long-standing support for this significant public event.

The steel from SAIL will be vital in constructing various temporary structures required for the smooth execution of Mahakumbh Mela 2025, such as pontoon bridges, walkways, temporary steel bridges, substations, and flyovers.

SAIL takes pride in contributing to such a large-scale event, which represents India’s rich cultural heritage. The company remains dedicated to supporting national projects that enhance infrastructure and promote the cultural and social prosperity of the country.
