Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates on Wednesday, where they discussed a range of topics, including technology, innovation, and sustainability.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi described the discussion as “excellent” in a post on social media platform X. “As always, an excellent meeting with Bill Gates. We spoke about diverse issues, including tech, innovation, and sustainability, towards creating a better future for the coming generations,” he said.
The conversation also focused on India’s developmental trajectory, the vision for Viksit Bharat 2047, and significant advancements in sectors such as health, agriculture, and artificial intelligence (AI), which are driving progress both locally and globally.
Bill Gates, in a post on X, echoed similar sentiments, highlighting India’s strides in various fields. “I had a great discussion with @narendramodi about India’s development, the path to Viksit Bharat @ 2047, and exciting advancements in health, agriculture, AI, and other sectors that are creating an impact today. It’s impressive to see how innovation in India is driving progress locally—and globally,” he wrote.
In addition to his meeting with the Prime Minister, Gates also met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on the sidelines of the Raisina Dialogue. The two discussed pressing development challenges and the role of innovation in addressing them.
