Beirut is likely to seek a one month extension of the existing ceasefire to prevent renewed escalation. On the ground, Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon remain ongoing, while Hezbollah continues to target positions with drone attacks. A new government assessment released on Wednesday estimates that more than 50,000 homes were damaged or destroyed in Lebanon during the latest conflict with Hezbollah.
