India Marks Largest-Ever Participation at Summer Fancy Food Show 2026 in North America

India has marked its largest-ever participation at the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026, North America’s premier specialty food exhibition, with the inauguration of the India Pavilion at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

The pavilion was jointly inaugurated by Consul General of India in New York Binaya Srikanta Pradhan and internationally acclaimed chef Vikas Khanna. Jointly organised by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) and the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) under the Department of Commerce, the pavilion brings together more than 70 Indian exhibitors, showcasing the country’s growing strength in agricultural and processed food exports.

The India Pavilion features a wide range of products, including basmati rice, spices, ready-to-eat foods, beverages, organic products, frozen foods, snacks and value-added agricultural products, reflecting the diversity of India’s food processing sector and its expanding presence in global markets.

A major attraction at the exhibition is the Indian Mango Showcase, which presents six premium export varieties along with innovative mango-based culinary creations, highlighting India’s position as the world’s largest producer of mangoes.

The pavilion also features a Basmati Culinary Showcase, where visitors are offered dishes prepared using premium Indian basmati rice to demonstrate its versatility across international cuisines. Michelin-starred chef Hemant Mathur is curating a daily tasting menu featuring Indian dishes for international buyers and visitors.

According to APEDA, India’s record participation at the exhibition reflects the growing confidence of Indian exporters and increasing global demand for authentic Indian food products. The North American market for Indian consumer packaged food products is estimated to represent an opportunity of USD 30-50 billion over the coming decade, driven by rising demand for premium ingredients, authentic flavours and trusted food brands.

Speaking at the inauguration, Consul General Binaya Srikanta Pradhan said the India Pavilion would strengthen the country’s food exports and brand presence in the United States, while showcasing the quality, innovation and diversity of India’s food industry.

Chef Vikas Khanna said every product displayed at the pavilion represents the efforts of millions of farmers, traders, manufacturers, exporters and workers across India’s food value chain, underlining the broader economic impact of the country’s food exports.

APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev said the Summer Fancy Food Show provides an important platform for Indian brands to connect with international buyers and expand their footprint in premium global markets.
