Railways approves new train stoppages in Haryana and Rajasthan to improve passenger connectivity

Indian Railways has approved additional stoppages for four trains at stations in Haryana and Rajasthan, a move aimed at improving rail connectivity and passenger convenience for commuters, students, traders and farmers in the two states.

According to the Ministry of Railways, the newly approved halts include the 54085/54086 Delhi–Satrod Passenger at Patuwas Meharana station, the 14619/14620 Agartala–Ferozpur Express and 14717/14718 Bikaner–Haridwar Express at Hansi station in Haryana, and the 12981/12982 Jaipur–Asarva Express at Bijainagar station in Rajasthan. The ministry said the decision was taken after assessing passenger demand and operational feasibility.

The stoppage of the Delhi–Satrod Passenger at Patuwas Meharana is expected to strengthen rail access for residents of the Rewari–Bhiwani section. Earlier, passengers had to depend on nearby stations such as Jharili and Charkhi Dadri, located around 6 km and 7 km away respectively. The new halt is expected to improve first- and last-mile connectivity for daily commuters.

At Hansi, an important station on the Bhiwani–Hisar section, the addition of stoppages for the Agartala–Ferozpur and Bikaner–Haridwar Express trains will provide passengers with direct access to more long-distance services. Previously, these trains halted only at Bhiwani City and Hisar, situated about 37 km and 25 km away respectively.

In Rajasthan, passengers at Bijainagar will benefit from the new stoppage of the Jaipur–Asarva Express. The train earlier halted at Nasirabad and Bhilwara, approximately 42 km and 67 km away. Railways said the new halt would improve connectivity between Rajasthan and Gujarat while offering greater convenience to passengers and business travellers.

The ministry said the move reflects Indian Railways’ focus on enhancing passenger convenience by expanding train accessibility at stations where demand exists and operational conditions permit additional stoppages.
