Avni Kejriwal, a commerce student of Delhi Public School (DPS), Dhurva, Ranchi, has secured a perfect 500 out of 500 in the CBSE Class 12 examinations after re-evaluation, making her the national topper.
The revised result was announced on June 22. Avni had initially scored 95.2 per cent, with 19 marks deducted in English Core and five in Business Studies. After applying for re-evaluation, she was awarded the additional 24 marks, taking her score to 100 in all five main subjects — English Core, Accountancy, Business Studies, Economics and Applied Mathematics. She also scored 99 in Graphics, her additional subject.
Speaking to IANS, Avni said she had applied for re-evaluation in English as she was confident about her performance. She said the revised result was a happy moment for her and her family.
Avni has appeared for CUET-UG 2026 and plans to pursue Business Management. She hopes to join a reputed institute for a BBA programme and eventually contribute to her family’s business.
DPS Dhurva Principal Jaya Chauhan felicitated the student and said the achievement reflected her hard work and dedication. Avni’s father, Mitesh Kejriwal, runs an edible oil business in Ranchi, while her mother, Poonam Kejriwal, is a homemaker.
Teachers and education experts said Avni’s journey serves as a reminder of the importance of trusting one’s preparation and using the official review process when warranted.
