UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on becoming India’s longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister, marking a historic milestone in the country’s democratic journey.
In a series of posts on X, Sheikh Mohamed congratulated Prime Minister Modi on achieving the longest continuous tenure as an elected head of government in modern India’s history. He wished Modi continued success in leading India and highlighted the remarkable progress in UAE-India relations in recent years.
The UAE President said the relationship had undergone a significant transformation through joint efforts to promote growth and prosperity for both nations. Expressing confidence in the future of the partnership, he said, “I congratulate my friend Narendra Modi on the occasion of recording the longest continuous term as an elected head of government in the history of modern India, and I wish him success in leading his country and people towards further civilizational achievements.”
He added: “The UAE-Indian relations have witnessed a qualitative transformation in recent years thanks to joint efforts for the growth and prosperity of our two peoples, and through working together, I am confident that these relations will witness further development in the upcoming phase under the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.”
Prime Minister Modi crossed the landmark on June 10, completing 4,399 consecutive days in office and surpassing the post-election record of 4,398 days held by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. The achievement comes during Prime Minister Modi’s third consecutive term in office and makes him the longest-serving continuously elected head of government in modern India’s history.
The congratulatory message reflects the deepening ties between the UAE and India, which have expanded significantly across trade, investment, energy, technology and people-to-people exchanges. The two countries have elevated their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership and continue to pursue closer economic and diplomatic cooperation.
