The Jharkhand government on Tuesday night released a list of 44 recruitment examinations cancelled over irregularities, amid student protests against alleged irregularities in the recruitment process.
In eight notifications issued late at night, the state government said the cancelled examinations included those conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and outsourced agency TSR Data Processing Pvt Ltd (TDPL) since 2014.
The examinations covered recruitment for drug inspectors, assistant professors, deputy collectors, dental doctors, assistant engineers, civil judges, additional public prosecutors and forest range officers, among other posts.
Other major examinations cancelled include those for lecturers in government polytechnics, senior scientific officers, assistant conservators of forests, and various administrative and technical posts.
The notifications said the state government would request the High Court to constitute a fast-track court to hear cases related to irregularities in the JPSC and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). An internal vigilance cell will also be constituted in the two commissions.
A committee constituted to recommend reforms in the JPSC and JSSC under senior IAS officer Amitabh Kaushal will submit its report to the government within two months, the notifications said.
Following a Cabinet meeting on Monday, the state government had announced the cancellation of the JSSC-Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination, one of the key demands of protesting students. It had also decided to cancel all examinations conducted by outsourced agency TDPL and the results published by it.
