Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University in Nanded has secured an Indian patent for a nanostructured drug delivery technology aimed at improving the effectiveness of poorly water-soluble anti-tubercular medicines, officials said.
The patent, titled “Nanostructured Delivery Device for Poorly Water-Soluble Anti-Tubercular Drugs and Method Thereof,” has been granted for a period of 20 years, the university said in a release.
The research focuses on using a nanostructured system to improve the delivery of anti-tubercular drugs that have low water solubility.
According to the university, the technology has the potential to enhance the delivery of such medicines in the body and improve their therapeutic effectiveness.
The development is being seen as a contribution to modern drug delivery systems and could help address challenges associated with the effective administration of medicines with poor water solubility, the university said.
