PM Modi to Inaugurate Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave 2026 in New Delhi Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The three-day event, scheduled from October 27 to 29, will bring together leading scientists, researchers, academicians, policymakers, industry leaders, startups and international experts to discuss emerging technologies and India’s priorities in science, technology and innovation.

The conclave will focus on 12 key thematic areas, including artificial intelligence, biotechnology, advanced materials, manufacturing, healthcare, energy, climate science and ocean research.

Discussions will centre on identifying research priorities, strengthening national scientific capabilities and translating technological breakthroughs into practical solutions.

The event will also feature a large-scale technology and innovation exhibition highlighting indigenous scientific achievements and emerging technologies. Around 150 deep-tech startups are expected to participate through dedicated stalls, showcasing cutting-edge innovations and their potential applications across various sectors.

A key highlight will be the Global Connect Networking Event, which will bring together more than 300 invited participants from academic institutions, research organisations and industries in India and abroad.

The initiative aims to facilitate international research partnerships, strengthen industry-academia collaboration and explore opportunities to translate laboratory innovations into commercially viable technologies.

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will also showcase its emerging technologies and future space exploration initiatives at the conclave.

Speaking at a curtain-raiser event, ISRO Chairman V. Narayanan said the space agency would display a model of its proposed next-generation heavy-lift launch vehicle, designed to carry payloads weighing more than 30,000 kg into low Earth orbit.

The exhibition will also highlight the Chandrayaan-4 and Chandrayaan-5 missions, which are part of India’s future lunar exploration programme.

Organised by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, ESTIC 2026 aims to strengthen the country’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem.

The conclave is expected to promote collaboration among research institutions, industry and policymakers while supporting India’s long-term scientific and technological development goals under the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
