At the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, India added some more medals to its tally on August 11. Barla Asha Kiran won the silver medal in the Women’s 800m run, meanwhile Pooja bagged a bronze in the Women’s High Jump event. In Javelin, Arjun grabbed the bronze medal for India.

India’s Winner
Representing India, Shoan Ganguly won the Silver Medal in the Individual Medley event; and Anupriya Valliyot won the Bronze Medal in Shot Put.
India was being represented by a 35-member contingent at the Games held in Trinidad and Tobago. The Indian contingent competed in only four events- cycling, triathlon, swimming and athletics at Trinbago 2023.
Medal Tally
Australia occupy the top spot in the Commonwealth Youth Games 2023 with 24 medals that include eight gold, seven silver and nine bronze. England and Scotland took the 2nd and 3rd spot with 16 and nine medals respectively.
Hosts Trinidad and Tobago are 7th on this list with five medals so far. India are on the 18th spot with 5 medals – 2 silver medal and 3 bronze medals.
Trinbago 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games – 4-11 August 2023
The seventh Commonwealth Youth Games took place on the Islands of Trinidad and Tobago between August 4-11, 2023. Over 1000 athletes and para athletes between the ages of 14-18 participated in seven sports managed by over 500 officials.
The Commonwealth Youth Games is an invaluable springboard for budding sportspersons contributing to the further development of youth sport throughout the Commonwealth. The Games have traditionally taken place every four years with the first event being hosted in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2000.
