Amit Shah reviews passing-out parade of 75th batch of IPS probationers

Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the Dikshant Parade of the 75 RR batch of the Indian Police Service (IPS)  at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad. 

Shah addressed the probationers and emphasized the historical significance of their role as they joined the Indian Police system during the centenary of the country’s independence. 

He praised their expected contributions to the nation’s internal security, highlighting the importance of hard work, devotion, sacrifice, and dedication. Shah also noted that these officers would play a vital role in fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the nation’s centenary of independence.

This event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including the Governor of Telangana, Home Secretary, the Director of Intelligence Bureau, and the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Home Minister acknowledged Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s foresight in establishing the academy and stressed that the probationers would be responsible for upholding the Constitution and safeguarding citizens’ rights. He also highlighted the role of technology in enhancing internal security and commended the introduction of the Police Technology Mission to equip Indian police with cutting-edge technology.

During the event, A woman officer trainee Ranjita Sharma received the Best Officer Trainee Award, showcasing the progress made in women-led development. Shah underlined the importance of implementing new criminal laws and the need for the officers to understand and uphold the spirit of these laws to ensure public safety and protect their rights.

Shah discussed the challenges the nation faces, including terrorism, organized crime, cybercrime, and more. He called on the probationers to adopt a proactive, preventive, and predictive approach to policing and urged them to be sensitive to the needs of the marginalized while respecting local cultures.

Further, He stressed that significant improvements have been made in the country’s internal security, reducing violent incidents and fatalities in hotspot areas. Shah stressed the government’s zero-tolerance strategy against terrorism and emphasized the importance of integrated databases, analytical tools, and artificial intelligence to enhance law enforcement.

In closing, Amit Shah encouraged probationers to utilize modern technologies, databases, and analytics to stay ahead of evolving challenges and maintain public safety.
