The captain led the way, coming close to a century with a score of 87 off 101 balls, a knock which included 10 fours and three massive sixes.
Surykumar Yadav played a brilliant knock, falling just one run short of a half-century. His 49 runs off 47 balls included four boundaries and six.
On the bowling front, speedster Mohammed Shami was the star, ripping through the English batting order and claiming four wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav played their parts in taking key wickets. Ravindra Jadeja also made his mark.
Rohit Sharma was adjudged the ‘Player of the Match’ for his gritty knock.
India continued their winning streak, having now won six out of six games.
Today’s massive victory propelled them to the top of the points table, while England remained at the bottom with just one win in six matches.
