In the midst of the intense Israeli military operation in Gaza following the Hamas terror attacks, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone conversation with his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Tuesday, reiterating India’s support for the Israeli people.
Using his official handle on X, PM Modi shared details of his conversation with Netanyahu, stating, “I thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for his phone call and for providing an update on the ongoing situation. The people of India firmly stand with Israel during these challenging times. India strongly condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”
On Saturday, in a show of solidarity with Israel following the deadly rocket strikes by Hamas, Prime Minister Modi expressed his condolences, saying that his thoughts and prayers, along with those of fellow Indians, were with the innocent victims and their families.
“Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel during this difficult time,” PM Modi shared on X.
Israel’s Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, expressed his gratitude to PM Modi for his support on X, saying, “Thank you again PM Narendra Modi. We receive so much support from our Indian brothers and sisters that I’m unfortunately unable to thank each and every one of you personally. Please accept this as my gratitude to all our friends.”
According to the latest reports, the Hamas attacks have resulted in the loss of at least 900 lives among Israelis, with over 2,616 people injured.
