Janakpur to light 125,000 clay lamps today: Celebrating consecration of Ramlalla in Ayodhya

On the day of the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram in Ayodhya, the maternal home of Sita at Janakpur, is celebrating the Ramlalla consecration in Ayodhya by organising a slew of events in Madhesh Pradesh of Nepal.

In the Janaki temple of Janakpurdham, hundreds of volunteers are engaged in preparation to light up one lakh twenty-five thousand clay lamps in the temple today.

The entire Janakpur is filled with Ram Bhajan. Rangoli is made on the roads of Janakpur. Residents with saffron flags are waving around the city and saffron flag bunting decorations add beauty to Janakpurdham. A big TV screen is installed in the temple premise for people to watch the live consecration of Ramlalla in Ayodhya on DD News.

Earlier in a gesture of devotion, around 500 followers of Lord Ram journeyed from Janaki Temple in Nepal to Ayodhya in India as Bhar Yatra. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad orchestrated a Bhar Yatra, a vibrant procession, from Janakpur to Ayodhya. Their convoy carried over 3,000 unique gifts for Shri Ram and Mata Janaki from Janakpur, encompassing money, clothes, shoes, ornaments, fruits, sweets, gold, and silver.

According to Hindu beliefs, Lord Ram and Sita were married in Janakpur on the fifth day of Shukla Paksha of Margasira month in Treta Yug commemorated as ‘Vivah Tithi Panchami’.

Residents of Janakpur are very excited about the consecration of Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Local Ritesh Jha informed that his entire family will celebrate Deepavali at their home. Another resident, Babita Kumari, said she would offer puja in Janaki temple on the day of consecration and light clay lamps in her home.
