The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, over Central India on February 12 and 13, extending to East India from February 13 to 15.
According to the IMD’s weather bulletin, a cyclonic circulation over Marathawada and another over south Vidarbha in lower tropospheric levels are expected to bring isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning activity, over East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand during February 12-15. Vidarbha is likely to experience this weather phenomenon on February 12-13, while Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim are anticipated to be affected during February 13-15.
Additionally, Odisha may witness isolated light to moderate rainfall on February 12, 14, and 15, while southwest Uttar Pradesh is expected to experience similar conditions on February 13-14, and southeast Uttar Pradesh from February 12-14. Furthermore, isolated hailstorms are forecasted for East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand on February 13.
The IMD has issued a yellow alert for thunder and lightning in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and West Bengal on February 13. On February 14, a similar alert has been issued for Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, and Sikkim.
