India and Eswatini strengthen bilateral ties through Foreign Office Consultations

The second round of Foreign Office Consultations between India and Eswatini took place in Mbabane on Monday. Delegations from both countries engaged in comprehensive discussions, reviewing various aspects of their partnership and reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties.

Discussions covered political exchanges, development partnership projects, defence cooperation, trade and economic matters, and consular issues. Both sides expressed satisfaction with current bilateral ties and emphasized the importance of enhancing them for mutual benefit.

A notable highlight was India’s establishment of its High Commission in Eswatini in 2019, acknowledged during the talks. Both nations eagerly anticipate the opening of Eswatini’s High Commission in India, expecting it to bolster bilateral relations.

Delegations also explored multilateral topics of mutual interest, including UN Security Council reforms, Peace and Security in Eastern and Southern Africa, and involvement in regional organizations such as COMESA, SADC, and SACU.

Both sides expressed a shared commitment to sustaining high-level political exchanges and regular meetings of joint institutional mechanisms, aiming to maintain a vibrant and mutually beneficial partnership between India and Eswatini.
