PM Modi thanks leaders of Indonesia, Switzerland for congratulating him on LS election win

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday expressed gratitude to the leaders of Indonesia and Switzerland for congratulating him on his party’s resounding victory in India’s general elections.

PM Modi responded to Amherd in a post on X saying, “President @ViolaPamherd, we appreciate your kind words. The ‘Festival of Democracy’ in India has indeed drawn global attention. We will work together to enhance the India-Switzerland partnership”.

The Swiss leader had earlier congratulated PM Modi, calling the polls “an exceptional democratic exercise showing the strength of Indian democracy.” Amherd also welcomed India’s participation in the upcoming Burgenstock Summit to give the “Global South a voice.”

PM Modi also thanked Indonesian President Prabowo, saying, “Thank you President-elect @prabowo for your good wishes. I look forward to working closely with you on strengthening our comprehensive strategic partnership and build on our age-old ties.”

Prabowo had congratulated the Indian leader on the BJP’s decisive mandate, stating, “As we look ahead to the future and its challenges, we are committed to enhancing our strategic partnership in many sectors for the greater benefit of our two countries.”
