The Indian cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, had a breakfast meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, on Thursday.

The ‘Men in Blue’ wore customized India jerseys with ‘Champions’ emblazoned on them as they left to meet PM Modi.

In a video, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian cricket team players were seen sharing laughs. Head coach Rahul Dravid also spoke as the players sat together with the Prime Minister. Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya also addressed the meeting.

The T20 World Cup-winning Indian team arrived at PM’s residence at 11 am. The players and support staff departed from the ITC Maurya hotel amidst a rousing reception.

Captain Rohit Sharma, Rahul Dravid, and Virat Kohli were seen cutting a special cake prepared by the hotel’s chef.

India’s T20 World Cup heroes returned home to a warm reception on Thursday. The team, support staff, and around 20 members of the media arrived at New Delhi airport in a special charter plane arranged by the Indian cricket board (BCCI). Secretary Jay Shah also traveled with the team on the Air India plane. Notably, the chartered plane was arranged by the BCCI to bring home the World Cup heroes who were stranded for three days in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl.

Thousands of fans lined up outside Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi to catch a glimpse of the returning players.

After their meeting with PM Modi, the Indian team headed to the airport, where they will catch a flight to Mumbai to celebrate their victory with an open bus parade throughout the city.
