Employment-Linked Incentive scheme to be implemented swiftly: Dr. Mandaviya

Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, has called for the swift implementation of the Employment-Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme, which was announced in the Union Budget 2024-25. During a review meeting on the ELI Scheme and its implementation plan, Dr. Mandaviya emphasized the need for an expeditious and mission-mode approach to ensure its success. 
 
He said, “It is imperative that our efforts are directed towards creating a sustainable and inclusive employment ecosystem. The ELI Scheme is designed to facilitate job creation and provide incentives to both employers and employees.”
 
The ELI Scheme aims to create over 2 crore jobs within two years, significantly enhancing employment opportunities and livelihoods across the country. Dr. Mandaviya urged officials to launch an extensive outreach and awareness campaign to educate the public, particularly the target beneficiaries, about the benefits of the ELI Scheme.
 
The Union Budget 2024-25 announced three schemes under the Employment-Linked Incentive initiative as part of the Prime Minister’s package of five schemes and initiatives. These are designed to facilitate employment, skilling, and other opportunities for 4.1 crore youth over a five-year period, with a central outlay of Rs. 2 lakh crore.
 
The Ministry of Labour and Employment is currently finalizing the details of these schemes, along with their implementation plan, to ensure they are rolled out effectively and efficiently.
