Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday hosted a dinner for the recipients of the Padma Awards 2026, lauding their contributions to society and describing them as real change-makers driving socio-economic and cultural transformation across the country.
Sharing details of the event in a series of posts on X, HM Shah congratulated the distinguished personalities who were conferred the Padma Awards by President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
“PM Shri Narendra Modi Ji has reoriented Padma Awards as an institution to drive socio-economic progress by honouring the real change-makers strengthening our society at the grassroots,” HM Shah said.
He added that the awards ceremony reflects this vision and inspires more citizens to contribute towards India’s progress and development.
HM Shah also said he was delighted to interact with the awardees during the dinner and discuss the various social, economic and cultural transformations they are working towards in different parts of the country.
“Hosting the illustrious Padma Awardees of 2026, who are dedicated to the nation and welfare of humankind, was a heartening experience,” he said.
The Padma Awards are among India’s highest civilian honours and recognise exceptional contributions in fields such as public service, arts, science, education, medicine, sports and social work.
