The luxury train, operated by the tourism arm of Indian Railways under the Ministry of Railways, has been redesigned to combine heritage-inspired travel with contemporary comfort.

According to the company, the revamped train features upgraded upholstery, polished wooden interiors, refreshed cabins with plush linens, premium bath amenities, Smart TVs and onboard Wi-Fi streaming services.

The Golden Chariot can accommodate up to 80 guests across 40 cabins, including 13 double-bed cabins, 26 twin-bed cabins and one specially designed cabin for differently abled passengers.

Dining facilities onboard include two signature restaurants — Ruchi and Nalapaka — serving Indian and international cuisine, while Madira lounge bar offers a curated beverage experience.

Passengers will also have access to the Arogya Spa and Fitness Centre, which offers Ayurvedic therapies, wellness treatments and fitness facilities.

For the 2026-27 season, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has announced three curated itineraries covering heritage, wildlife and coastal destinations across southern India.
