The second day of Bharat Innovates 2026 witnessed intensive investor-startup engagement, with more than 80 DeepTech startups showcasing innovations before over 50 global investors from more than 10 countries, the Ministry of Education said on Tuesday.
The three-day flagship international event, jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, is being held from June 14 to June 16.
According to the Ministry, over 40 startups secured confirmed follow-up commitments after pitching across six thematic tracks covering space and defence, artificial intelligence and semiconductors, healthcare, biotechnology, energy, climate technologies and advanced manufacturing.
The day featured an Innovation Showcase of technologies developed by startups and higher education institutions in sectors including biotechnology, semiconductors, healthcare, mobility, space and artificial intelligence. Panel discussions brought together global industry and investment leaders from organisations such as Safran Reosc, Thales Alenia Space, Sony Innovation Fund and Mizuho Financial Group, focusing on areas such as bio-innovation, defence supply chains and scaling deep-tech solutions.
The Ministry said the summit has so far facilitated over 1,350 B2B meetings, more than 50 collaboration agreements, and cumulative funding commitments of around USD 254.5 million across participating innovators.
The final day will focus on technology parks and accelerators, climate technologies, industrial decarbonisation, global scaling strategies and long-term institutional partnerships aimed at strengthening global innovation linkages, the Education Ministry said.
