The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), in collaboration with the Airports Authority of India (AAI), celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 at Aviation Park, Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan, New Delhi, on Sunday, highlighting the importance of physical, mental and spiritual well-being.
Held under this year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, the programme began with a ceremonial assembly, a lamp-lighting ceremony and the administration of the Yoga Pledge by Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha. Participants also took part in a guided session based on the Common Yoga Protocol, conducted by certified yoga experts.
The event was attended by Airports Authority of India Chairman Vipin Kumar, Additional Secretary, MoCA, Puneet Kansal, and other senior officials from the Ministry and AAI. Their participation reflected the Ministry’s focus on promoting a culture of health, wellness and holistic development in the workplace.
Addressing the gathering, Sinha urged participants to incorporate yoga into their daily routines rather than limiting the practice to an annual observance. He said yoga, pranayama and meditation contribute significantly to better health, increased energy, greater discipline and a balanced lifestyle.
