President Murmu urges tribal youth to embrace education, technology and heritage for nation building

President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday called upon tribal youth to harness the power of education and technology while remaining connected to their cultural roots, saying they have a crucial role to play in building a strong, prosperous and self-reliant India.

The President made the remarks while interacting with a group of beneficiaries of the flagship scholarship schemes of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Addressing the students, President Murmu said India is rich in talent and that young people from villages, remote regions and tribal communities can achieve remarkable success when provided with the right guidance, support and opportunities. She noted that the presence of the scholarship beneficiaries at Rashtrapati Bhavan reflected the immense potential of India’s youth.

Highlighting the importance of government initiatives aimed at tribal empowerment, the President said scholarship schemes go beyond financial assistance and serve as a means to fulfil the aspirations of talented students who often face resource constraints. She described scholarships as instruments that open new avenues of opportunity and help young people realise their dreams.

President Murmu underscored the transformative role of education, calling it a powerful tool for empowerment that enables individuals to become self-reliant, informed and capable. Drawing from her own life experiences, she said education had played a significant role in her personal journey and urged the students to become role models for children who dream of success despite limited means.

The President emphasised that inclusive national development can only be achieved when those who progress also help others advance. She encouraged the beneficiaries to use their knowledge and experiences to inspire future generations from tribal and underserved communities.

Describing youth as the strength and hope of the nation, President Murmu urged them not to forget their roots and communities as they pursue success. She said that by combining modern education and technological advancement with pride in their cultural heritage, young people can contribute significantly to India’s development.

The President also reiterated the country’s goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047 and expressed confidence that the youth would play a decisive role in achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat. She encouraged the students to actively contribute to society and nation-building regardless of the field they choose to pursue.
