Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron to Jointly Inaugurate Bharat Innovates 2026 in Nice on June 14

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron are scheduled to jointly inaugurate Bharat Innovates 2026 on June 14, 2026, at the Palais des Expositions in Nice, France.

Organised by the Government of India under the Union Ministry of Education, Bharat Innovates 2026 will bring together 120 Indian innovators, around 15 Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and more than 500 investors, including leading corporates, venture capital firms, global CEOs and industry leaders. The event will focus on 13 key sectors, including advanced computing, semiconductors, space technology, biotechnology, energy, healthcare and manufacturing, showcasing India’s growing innovation and deep-tech ecosystem.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, and Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India Ajay Kumar Sood are expected to be present at the event.

The first edition of Bharat Innovates 2026 will showcase India’s deep-tech innovators and start-ups to global investors and industry leaders. The event is expected to serve as a platform for advancing innovation-led partnerships between India and global stakeholders. It is also expected to see outcomes related to collaboration in deep technology, research and development, start-up scaling and cross-border investment facilitation.

The event will highlight opportunities for institutional partnerships between Indian and French innovation ecosystems, focusing on co-development, technology exchange and the acceleration of emerging technologies. Bharat Innovates aims to connect innovators and institutions with investors, corporations, universities, research organisations and government stakeholders for investments, technology validation, co-development opportunities, pilot projects, manufacturing partnerships, technology transfer, market entry and international scaling.

Bharat Innovates 2026 is expected to deepen India’s engagement with global innovation networks and reinforce its position as a hub for technology-driven growth and entrepreneurship. The event is being organised under the India-France Year of Innovation, which was jointly inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron in Mumbai in February 2026.
