Union Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit Bawal in Haryana’s Rewari district on Tuesday to attend the concluding ceremony of the month-long nationwide ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’, where he will interact with farmers, agricultural scientists and experts.
The Union Minister will begin his visit by touring an exhibition showcasing agriculture-related models and stalls highlighting modern farming practices, soil health management, crop protection, animal husbandry and rural livelihood initiatives.
Following the exhibition, Chouhan will participate as the chief guest at the concluding programme of the campaign. The event will focus on reviewing the experiences and achievements of the ‘Khet Bachao Abhiyan’, while outlining the roadmap for future initiatives aimed at strengthening the agriculture sector.
During the programme, the minister will interact directly with farmers on issues related to protecting farmland, reducing crop losses, promoting scientific and organic farming practices, and advancing rural development. The interaction is aimed at ensuring that the benefits of various Central government schemes reach farmers effectively and address challenges faced at the grassroots level.
Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana, along with scientists, agricultural experts and officials from various institutions, will also participate in the event. They will present the key initiatives undertaken during the campaign and share model practices adopted to improve agricultural productivity and sustainability.
The programme will include discussions on soil testing, crop diversification, improved seed varieties, irrigation management, livestock protection, and welfare schemes of both the Central and Haryana governments. Local farmers will also share their experiences and success stories, with the aim of encouraging the adoption of proven agricultural practices in other districts across the country.
