Delhi witnessed light rain in several parts of the city on Saturday morning, bringing relief from the humid weather.
People at Kartavya Path enjoyed early morning walks amid light showers. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rain was recorded at isolated places across the national capital, while the Safdarjung area reported mist and a temperature of 27°C as of 8 am.
The Ridge area also experienced a light thunderstorm accompanied by rain and mist, with the temperature recorded at 26°C as of 7 am, the IMD said.
Over the past 24 hours, Delhi received very light to light rainfall at many places, with moderate rain at isolated places accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Minimum temperatures across the capital remained between 23°C and 26°C, while maximum temperatures settled between 34°C and 35°C.
According to IMD data recorded until 8:30 am, Pusa recorded the highest cumulative rainfall at 16.5 mm. The Ridge recorded 0.2 mm, while Faridabad recorded 1.0 mm of rainfall.
Meanwhile, very heavy rainfall was recorded in Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, East Uttar Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh and East Madhya Pradesh on Friday.
Heavy rainfall was also reported in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Assam and Meghalaya, Himachal Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh and Odisha.
The weather agency has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over Uttarakhand from August 22 to 28.
Fairly widespread rainfall is also expected over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim between August 22 and 28. Jharkhand is likely to receive fairly widespread rainfall from August 23 to 28, while Bihar is expected to witness similar conditions between August 24 and 26. (ANI)
