A massive surge of devotees was witnessed in the holy city of Ayodhya on the occasion of the last Monday of the month of Sawan.
After taking a holy dip at the Saryu Ghat, a large number of devotees visited the revered Nageshwarnath Temple—established by Lord Ram’s son Kush—to perform Jalabhishek (ritual offering of water) to the deity.
In view of the heavy influx of devotees, the administration has made extensive security and logistical arrangements. Officials are personally overseeing the arrangements on the ground.
Separate parking arrangements have been made for the devotees’ vehicles. Personnel from the Water Police, SDRF, PAC, and local volunteers have been deployed at the ghats to ensure safety during the ritual baths. Continuous warnings are being issued to prevent devotees from venturing into deep water.
Barriers have been installed in various sectors to manage the crowd at the Nageshwarnath Temple. Devotees are being regulated at these barriers and allowed to proceed further only as space becomes available within the temple complex.
The entire fair area is under CCTV surveillance. In addition to continuous monitoring from the control room, drones are being used to keep an eye on crowded areas. Additional police forces are being deployed as required.
City SP Chakrapani Tripathi stated that today marks the fourth Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Elaborate police arrangements have been made for the safety of the devotees. Robust security measures are in place, covering everything from parking areas to the ghats and the Nageshwarnath Temple. Personnel from the Water Police, SDRF, PAC, and volunteers have been assigned duties, and continuous monitoring is being conducted via CCTV and drones.
Meanwhile, devotees visiting the temple appeared satisfied with the darshan and the arrangements made by the administration. Shakti Gupta, a devotee, expressed that he felt deeply gratified after offering water at the Nageshwarnath Temple and was able to have a smooth darshan.
