Around 9,000 pilgrims were safely escorted across a landslide-affected area on the Kedarnath trek route in Uttarakhand’s Rudraprayag district on Tuesday, officials said.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) said its Sonprayag team took charge to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims through the landslide-affected zone near the Chidbasa helipad.
Officials said the SDRF safely guided approximately 9,000 pilgrims across the affected area during the operation.
On Sunday evening, a five-year-old boy named Yash, a resident of Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, died, and his father was injured, after heavy rain triggered a landslide near the Chidbasa helipad.
At the time of the incident, Yash was returning with his father after paying obeisance to Lord Kedarnath.
